Our Organization
The Aungzay Institute Inc, will have a Board of Directors
which will be the sole policy making body. The Board
will appoint the officers of the corporation comprising a President,
Vice-President, Secretary and Treasurer. A Board of Advisors, Patrons
and Committees will be selected and appointed by the Board as needed.
Our Patrons
Patrons will consist of eminent Burmese personalities
and friends of Myanmar from many countries: scientists,
scholars in the national heritage field, high-ranking officials
with past experience in international organizations such as the
United Nations, and prominent members from the private sector.
A Brief Background
The heritage of a country is its soul and institutional memory
and will serve as its hope and inspiration for future generations.
We believe it is our duty to preserve and protect our unique cultural
traditions and heritage for the sake of present and future generations.
Time is not on our side. Due to the ravages of time and
neglect, many priceless national heritage treasures have been lost.
Others that remain will slowly be lost forever unless the present
generation of concerned citizens and friends take immediate action
to preserve them.
The challenging task ahead is to organize existing resources
and take the management of our national cultural heritage
to the next level of integration.
Our Task Ahead
Our goal is to bring our rich national heritage within easy access to individuals, groups, and communities around the globe and to evolve as an important guide to future generations. To accomplish this goal, we will constantly employ the latest Internet and multimedia technologies to provide the richest possible presentation, experience, and education for all. One important example of this is to provide rich multimedia recordings of live interviews of prominent individuals.
We have to
mobilize now to collect, preserve, and transmit our national
cultural heritage.
We appeal to all Myanmar citizens and friends to
join us in this noble cause.
Together with families and communities we will search for ways to adapt to the new environment. Without discarding our traditional values we will find proper balance for the “success” of our modern lives.
